BUNYA HEALTH CENTRE is situated in Uganda, East Africa in close proximity to Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda, the pearl of Afica, is a country of more than 40 million people. In The Ibulanku community has an estimated 50,000 people; 23,000 are below the age of 15 years, 2,000 children under one year; 40% of the population is below the poverty line, and 90% are engaged in subsistence farming ; illiteracy status is 56%. There are 10,000 women of child bearing age and 2,500 pregnancies annually.
